Hi:
I posted last week about going off my pills after my current pack. I am in my placebo week (and got my withdrawal bleed hallelujah - I was worried). I am not currently using any other birth control as i understand i am still protected this week but will start doing so Sunday when I would normally start taking active pills again.
However I am now considering going on progestin only pills when placebo pils are done: the problem I have is with the estrogen.
If I start progestin only pills in place of the usual estrogen pills Sunday am I immediately protected again? Do they also work to prevent ovulation? I know the timing is a lot more sensitive with them.

Re: Possible switch to progestin only pill
Hi Calypso,
If you're considering making the switch, the best person to talk to is a healthcare provider. They can help you understand any differences in how the pills work, and explain to you the way to start them if you decide to switch.

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
