PLEASE HELP!!!

I have been having sex with my partner and everytime afterwards I have been bleeding quite alot. The blood looks like red actual blood rather than resembling period like blood. There is a weird smell also. I was tested for Chlamydia and do not have that. What could this be?

Hi LRG,

If the bleeding only occurs after sex, that's likely due to there not being enough lubrication present during intercourse. Is penetration uncomfortable or painful?

But I am still bleeding now and I haven't had sex in a week. And yes sometimes sex can be painful.

My best advice, then, is to consult your sexual healthcare provider about this.

If you haven't already, I'd be sure to ask them to run a full STI panel for you (not just a Chlamydia test), and also investigate intercourse being painful for you, particularly if it is when a) you feel strong desire for that kind of sex, b) are turned on, and c) are using plenty of lubricant.

Moving forward, when any kind of sex is painful, don't keep at it. Stop. Pain is our bodies way of telling us to hold up, not keep going. And if a kind of sex right now for you is always or often painful, I'd just put that kind of sex on the shelf until you have some more answers from your healthcare.

Gonorrhea can sometimes cause bleeding after sex. It's excellent that you're getting a full screening, and if those results all come back negative, you'll want to talk to your healthcare provider about other possible causes of pain and bleeding during/after sex.
