No method of contraception (birth control) is 100% effective, so with any method, there will always be some risk of pregnancy with penis-in-vagina intercourse.

How big or small that risk is depends on which specific method someone is using, and if they're only using one method or more than one (using two effective methods properly is what prevents pregnancy most effectively), and how consistently and correctly they are using the method or methods.
