Too young?

I'm 13 and have a boyfriend whom i do things with. When i say i do 'things' with him i mean there hasnt been any underwear removed yet, but that doesnt mean there hasnt been any touching. I myself agree that i am a bit young and so do other people online but i also think that i dont care for age, everyone gets to this point in life where they experience new things with their partner and i just reached that point early, so what? Its happening. But some things people say about my age are getting to me, i know i trust myself enough for any of this not to lead to sex but i still want things and people think i am too young. I dont want to be too young, and i dont want to wait.

Hi Hughes,

The honest answer is that there's no exact "right" age for sex or intimate relationships. What feels right for one person at 13 may feel totally wrong for another person. So you have to go by how you and your partner are feeling. You can read a really detailed answer to a question much like yours here: http://www.scarleteen.com/article/relat ... or_romance

In terms of figuring out if you're ready, we have this checklist to help you work out what aspects of sex you do and do not feel prepared for: Ready or Not? The Scarleteen Sex Readiness Checklist
