Sex and Periods

Hello,

I have always had a pretty regular period and I have recently started to have sex. I did have a pregnancy scare when we first had sex, but it had been mostly due to stress because I'm applying to college and was scared of getting pregnant. It was delayed 2 week, but it came. We had sex twice after again and once again, my period has been delayed by a couple days. Now, I haven't had sex all month and once again, my period is late. Is being sexually active affecting my menstrual cycle?

Thank you.

Hello, Chica. Welcome to Scarleteen. :)

There are a lot of reasons why periods can change. Being sexually active is not one of them but stress and changes in your routine -- such as lack of sleeping, changes in diets, etc -- are. Bodies are not machines so they won't always act and react the same way.

I'm going to leave an article for you that has all the information you need about this topic: http://www.scarleteen.com/article/bodie ... _my_period
