Losing my patience with my grandmother's transition related excuses.

My grandmother wouldn't let me take blockers for the reason of her needing to "protect herself" during this custody case. Now, the same excuse I got for voice training, guess I'll have to add that to list of shit to do myself. :/

Is searching out those things for yourself something you'd like some help with?

Yes, please.

One place to start would be to see if LGBT resources in your area (or even your state) have information on places or practitioners who you could access (these will often be under a "resources" tab or something like that).

Do you have a general healthcare provider you're seeing right now? If you do, are they aware of what you want to do around your transition?

Yeah, pretty much all of my healthcare providers know.

Awesome. Have you talked with them about what steps you could take that would not involve your grandmother's consent or involvement?

I haven't and I don't think there is much I can do.

I would give it a try to see what your options are (if they're your allies, you might be able to bring them in to help convince your grandmother). With the voice coaching, I would see if you can find information from other trans folks online as to whether there is someone in your area who is available to work with you.

If it comes down to it, I might just have to self-voice coach. And, I'm planning on keeping at it with her.

Sounds like a plan. Good luck with the voice coaching, and I hope she comes around eventually.
