Antibiotics and Birth Control
I was prescribed the antibiotic sulfa earlier this month to treat a UTI. Ive been talking alysena 28 for about three years now. I ended up having unprotected sex (pull out method) while i was taking the antibiotics. which is something i normally dont do, im just wondering the chances of an unwanted pregnancy, and if i would have symptoms about two weeks later?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi again, Im on the third day of my placebo pills and still no withdrawl bleed. I took a pregnancy test four days befor emy period was expected and it came back negative. Wondering if the antibiotics could have effected my period?

Re: Antibiotics and Birth Control
It's possible: illness itself can also affect your cycle. However, withdrawal bleeds also frequently don't show up until a few days into your placebo week, and that can vary from month to month as well. Plenty of folks using the pill don't get their withdrawal bleed until three or four or even five days into the placebo pills.
