How could I do this without leaving with a heavy clean-up hassle?

Any time something messy is involved, your best bet is to either be in a place that's easy to clean (like a tub or shower) or set down something like thick towels etc. that are easy to wash. But messy things are by their very nature going to require cleanup of some sort, so there's only so much you can do to minimize that.
