Withdrawal bleeding means not pregnant?

Unread post by amandat12 »

Hi,
I was wondering if you would still get a withdrawal bleed from the pill if you are pregnant?

Hey amandat12,

To answer your question, "The most common symptom of pregnancy is a missed or late period, or a period that comes around the time you'd expect it but is very unlike what your period (or withdrawal bleed, when you're on the pill) is usually like. So, when on the pill, if you become pregnant, you most likely will NOT have your withdrawal bleed." This answer is from an advice column that has lots of other great information about taking birth control pills: Three questions about taking the birth control pill (and plenty of answers)

I've noticed many of your past posts relate to anxiety around birth control protection and pregnancy. Since this is still something you are feeling anxiety about, would you like to talk about adding another method of birth control? Or about where you think this anxiety is coming from?
