spotting before period

I am currently sexually active, we use condoms and I am on the pill. He also pulls out. This month, 2 days before my placibo pills I am having some light bleeding. This is my third month on the pill. I've not missed any pills, and the latest I've been at taking them was 30 minutes. Is this normal? Or should I be concerned about pregnancy?

Hi cj4289,

Spotting is a common side effect of the pill, so it may be the culprit here (we can't say for certain what's causing it because we can't diagnose via internet). Just to check, are you and your partner up to date on your STI tests?
And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.

Yes he has been tested, and I was tested about a week ago and everything came back negative. He's the only partner ive ever had.

Got it. Spotting can be a sign of some STIs, so it helps to eliminate that as a source.
