Cramp one week earlier than expected period?

Hello my girlfriend is experiencing cramp one week before her expected period. Is this normal and should I be worry.

PS I don't know what kind of cramp but she said cramp from her abdominal area

Cramps can sometimes happen several days before a period arrives; it may also be that her period is early this time, which happens too. It could be too that these cramps are to do with her digestive system or something totally unrelated to her period, there's just no way to know for sure. Unless she's in severe pain, then it's likely nothing to be concerned about.

Thanks for replying Karyn. My girlfriend said her cramp was not severe and it is gone now.
