Decidual bleeding

Hello
I have not very clear what decidual bleeding is.
If it can appear at the timing you expect your period (for regular menstrual cycles girls).
As I read a post in here, It can last as many days as a period, and it looks like a period.
Then how you can differentiate a period and a decidual bleeding?
For me that doesn’t seems so logical, if what I describe is how it is then every woman that experienced a pregnancy risk situation should test for pregnancy even if they get what they percibe like a period.
PD: Also, in my research for clarification I read in some posts that what you propose for identification for period is “If it feels like a period, come as the time you expect your period, and last like a period then is a perio”, but what I also read in here is that decidual bleeding covers all of those arguments.
So, would you help me understanding what decidual bleeding is and how to know if you someone had a period or decidual bleeding?
Thanks
