When you want support through something scary or rough, and help pulling yourself together and getting through, this is the place.
Forum rules
We ask that users looking for general, ongoing emotional support post in this area of the boards, and that you use this space to both ask for, give and receive that support primarily from each other, rather than from our staff and volunteers. As a staff, we simply are often too overextended with all we need to do in running the organization and its services to do that for extended periods of time, and one of our main aims of our community at the boards has always been to facilitate peers to better be there for each other.

Users often report that they have no in-person peers they can talk to or seek support from: we want this to be a space for online peer support and somewhere everyone can get some practice asking for, getting and giving support so that doing it with people in your lives feels more doable.

Please remember that neither staff, volunteers nor your fellow users can provide or replace mental healthcare when that is something you need. Users struggling with issues like anxiety, depression, abuse or physical health issues are strongly encouraged to seek out qualified, in-person help with those issues in addition to peer or staff support.

So, at my school, people are very split about my friend group (we are all queer in one way or another and are friends with all the queer kids that are out at my school). More specifically they are split about the gender queer kids in my group. Even more specifically:me. By this, I mean, half either don't care or think I'm brave or something, and the other half harasses me on a regular basis. People will say my birth name over and over again when they see me, If I tell a sub my preferred name, someone will always say "Just ignore HER, HER name is [insert birth name]!" I tried to use the bathroom (I have to use the girls) and a group of girls blocked the doorway and said that if I'm a boy I should use the boys bathroom and wouldn't let me get through, causing me to be late to class. Honestly I don't know how to cope with it anymore. Talking to the dean or guidance counselor won't help because the dean is homophobic and made the people I reported students of the week (not a coincidence, they dont do their work and talk a lot in class  ) I wish they knew how much it hurt me.

I'm really sorry to hear this boopie. It's not cool behaviour from them and it sounds like you know it.

I can't think of any immediate solution, if even the faculty are backing this behaviour. Luckily it does sound to me like you have a good grasp of who you are, and some good people who so support you. I don't think you will be able to convince absolutely everyone, and harassment may occur. But there is a lot of strength to be built around the support you do have, and helping the society around you evolve (which is the long game). It sounds like some future steps could be to take it higher and you do have some recourse for doing that.

As per my post on your other thread, I also think it could be a really good idea to make sure we finish addressing your other question before moving here, if that's ok?
