When to stop taking the pills?

Unread post by Christy0227 »

I decided to stop taking birth control pills as I will not be having sex in a couple of months... I had sex few days ago when i was on the second week of my current pack. Is it safe to stop taking it after I finish this pack? Or should I take one more pack before I stop since I had sex during my current pack... Thanks

Have you discussed this with your gynecologist? It is always best to consult with the prescribing doctor before making any changes.

Again, the person who can best answer this question for you is the person who prescribed the pill to you.

I would suggest either calling or emailing (if you have the capacity to do either) the person who prescribed the pills and talking to them. Or, depending on what country you're in, you may be able to find a pharmacist or doctor to talk to about the pills and what the best way to go off them is.

If you run out and are unable to get another pack, that won't suddenly put you at risk from the sex you had during your second week of the pack.
And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.

It truly should be fine to stop after this pill pack so long as you have not had intercourse within a week or so of stopping. Sperm cells cannot remain within the vagina for longer than that period of time.
