Hi rajaman...

In my opinion, being restless, feeling unsatisfied or feeling lonely aren't something sex can 'fix'... sexuality is just one of many ways we connect to ourselves and each-other.

So thinking about those broader issues and learning how to connect with people can often address whatever feels lacking. Of course exploring sexuality can be fun too... but endowing it, or potential partners, with the responsibility of making everything feel ok is a tall order.

I will say that being single doesn't have to mean you don't have a sex life. Plenty of people date or have casual sex without getting into relationships. Is this something you are thinking of?

What do you think of this article? Could it be useful?

Casual...Cool? Making Choices About Casual Sex

Casual sex is a totally fine thing to pursue, it's just important, as with any kind of sexual practice to do it ethically.

Hey, rajaman, I believe that was my error. We had a few different posts that were nothing but a few words and a link and they were spam, and I think I accidentally lumped a similar kind of post from you in with them. Sorry about that!

While some of the information in that article is sound in terms of doing things like keeping you relaxed and in the moment with a partner, it's very different from how we generally think about premature ejaculation. Our view, and the view of many other reliable sex ed organizations, is that it's not great to think about premature ejaculation as an issue. The average amount of time it takes to reach ejaculation is less than three minutes, so what many people think of as premature ejaculation is just average ejaculation. Too, focusing too much on ejaculation can often draw away from all the other types of sexual behavior that can be pleasurable. Does that make sense?

If you want to read more about why we talk about premature ejaculation that way, as well as some safe ways people try to extend the period before ejaculation, check this out: http://www.scarleteen.com/article/bodie ... jaculation

That three minutes is referring to direct stimulation of the genitals.
