Oral sex after wisdom teeth extraction hole closes

Hello. I am a 24 year old, gay male. I had two impacted wisdom teeth removed about a month and a half ago. One of them left an extraction hole behind. By now, the hole has closed up and the tissue is nice and pink, but still soft. Do I need to wait until the tissue is hard again to give oral sex or am I ok to do that now? I know that the risk of dry socket has long passed, but I am more worried about STI risk.

Hi Techguy,

If the holes have closed up, then that likely removed any additional STI transmission risk posed by having your wisdom teeth removed. Unless you think that the new tissue is sensitive or thin enough that it has an increased likelihood of bleeding during oral sex, which could increase the STI risks. Too, using condoms for oral sex would help decrease the STI risks, so it might be simplest to use them if you're not already planning on doing so.
