It is possible to pass on STIs from oral sex (more in the link below), the safest thing to do is use barriers such as condoms or dental dams for oral sex.

Whilst in theory not having taken part in any sexual activity before should mean the probability of anyone having STIs is very low, a lot of people don't take into account the range of activities that can pose an STI risk when they talk about "sex". If you want to be safer, it's best to use barriers every time and get regular STI checkups. Does that make sense?
