Birth control and Zoloft
Birth control and Zoloft
Hi! I’m starting on Yaz and take 50 mg of Zoloft a day.
Will the Zoloft decrease the effectiveness of my pill? Planned Parenthood says no, but there’s tons of conflicting info out there. Thank you.

Re: Birth control and Zoloft
Hi Iloves,
Zoloft is not one of the substances known to decrease the effectiveness of the pill. You can read more about which medications are, and are not, likely to influence the pill in this article: Something You Can Worry About Less: Interference and Hormonal Birth Control. If you're still concerned, you can also call your pharmacist and ask them if there are any issues to be aware of when taking those two medications together.

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
