Hi!
I take my b.c pill at night and sometimes have a loose stool in the morning. I know it only takes a few hours for the pill to absorb after taking but, since I took it the night before, is there any way it may not have been absorbed and came out in that stool if I've eaten something bad around the time of taking the pill? Or will it have been absorbed before being affected by anything?

Re: Birth control pills and loose stool?
Hi srharrison,
Since the pill takes around 2-3 hours to absorb, you can assume that anything that happens in the morning (be that diarrhea or vomiting) will not compromise it's effectiveness, since your body will absorb it the same whether you're asleep or awake after taking it.

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
