Birth control effectiveness reduced?

Hello there! This past Saturday, I took my birth control at the regular time of 10 am, had sex with boyfriend without a condom, and at around midnight, so at least 12 hours after taking my pill,I had horrible vomiting. The next morning, Sunday morning, instead of taking my pill at 10 am, I took my pill at 1 pm because I still felt nauseous and was worried I would throw it up. I was wondering if these 2 instances, the vomiting and taking my pill 3 hours later, would reduce the pills effectiveness.? Especially since they both occurred back to back. Do I need to get plan b? He also did not ejaculate inside me, as we combine birth control and pulling out, having both had our STD testing. The pill that I am on is Vestura, a generic form of yaz. Thank you!

Since the vomitting did not occur until several hours after taking your pill, you do not have to worry that your protection was compromised by that. Your pill was long since digested by then. And you do have a grace period for taking the pill - as long as you take it around the same time, you're fine. Three hours after your regular pill time is still pretty much on time.

Perfect! So plan b in this case would not be necessary?

Even though these instances happened back to back within two days? Thank you so much for the quick reply too!

It doesn't matter that the two incidents happened close to each other, as neither would impact your bc's effectiveness. :)
