Pill timing

Hi Marjosalazar,
So, when you first start on the combination pill, your pill may be fully effective as early as that first day. However we, and many other places, advise waiting one full pack of pills before going without a back up method. What that all means is that you had some protection, and maybe even full protection, from the pill. But, if that "maybe" isn't something you're comfortable with and it's been five or fewer days since the incident, then emergency contraception may be a sound option.
Too, since it sounds like you don't want to become pregnant anytime soon, can I ask why you and your partner chose to go without a condom?
