It may sound like a silly question but is it normal to find sex with my partner more pleasurable than masturbation?

It's not a silly question at all! How partnered sex feels compared to masturbation varies from person to person, and for any given person throughout their life. So, some people find masturbation is more enjoyable, that the two are equally enjoyable in different ways or, in your case, that partnered sex is more enjoyable for them.
