Panicking About My body Right now

Unread post by monkey 014 »

Hi, I'm kind of freaking out right now and and worried that I have hurt my body.

I have recently been using a Hitachi to masturbate (normally I use a rabbit style vibrator), and yesterday I noticed to my shock that my clitoral hood and Labium minorum (at least I think those are body parts) are really engorged/enlarged - there is no pain but my vagina has never done this before. This has NEVER happened before, and I am really freaking out; its been 12 hours, and I think its been going down but I am TERRIFIED that I have hurt/screwed myself up down there. Will everything just go down eventually? Will I need to go to the hospital/gynecologist? I would DIE of embarrassment if I have to explain to my mother about this. Please help!!!!!

Since we aren't healthcare providers who can examine you, we just can't know for sure what the scoop is here.

However, given what you've said, it seems like the most likely scenario is that you got very aroused, as that will tend to make blood pool in the genitals, swelling them, sometimes quite intensely. Because this is not something you have noticed or had happen before doesn't mean that's not what's happened this time. A LOT of people are bonkers for Hitachi's because they find they stimulate them very well, so it may have done that for you.

How are you feeling otherwise? If nothing else is up, and you feel well, this is not likely anything you need to be concerned about.

Thanks Heather. I'm still a little worried. Do you have any links to information or advice regarding this issue? I'm not having any luck finding useful information about incidents like this or how to make the swelling go down; I just keep finding porny stuff. If things don't go go back to normal by the beginning of next week, I'll be very scared. Would I go to a gynecologist or a clinic for this particular issue?

Have you already gone to the sexually section of our main site and read the pieces about sexual response and anatomy? If not, that's an easy place to start since you're already here! :)

FYI, you can take an over the counter analgesic like Advil or aspirin, and that often reduces vasocongestion - the medical term for swelling from arousal - more quickly.
