Pill's effectiveness

Unread post by Kami »

Hi!

I've been on the yasmin pill a year now, never missed one but today I had loose stool 2 hours after taking it and slight diarrhea 4 hours after taking it. I know it was from a protein drink I took a few hours before taking the pill, I'm not sick or anything. It was the 16th pill in the pack, I've 5 left. Will this affect the pill? Some say it's only vomiting or severe diarrhea that do anything to it but I'm not sure. Should I use a condom until I start the next pack after my gap week?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Kami,

If you experience diarrhea (and I mean diarrhea diarrhea, not just loose stool) less than 2-3 hours after taking the pill, then the pill may not have been all the way absorbed and you should use a back-up method. And, if you're still concerned, you can back up anyway just to be safe
And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
