New on pill

Unread post by ojh22 »

I started the pill on the first day of my period, but it was mainly just discharge and small spots of blood. I had a very heavy flow for 4 days, it stopped, and then I bled again for 2 more days. I've only ever had dry sex, but recently I've felt very nauseous and my breasts are VERY sore... Is this normal?

Irregular bleeding or spotting, nausea, and breast tenderness are all symptoms that some people notice on the pill, especially in the first few months when the body's adjusting to it. So, what you're describing certainly sounds normal for a new pill user.

Thank you! And in theory, for future reference, if I became pregnant on the pill I wouldn't bleed heavily consecutively, correct? Just spotting?

Having any kind of bleeding when pregnant is not the norm. So if you did become pregnant on the pill, you wouldn't have any bleeding, no.
