Birth Control and Bowel Movements

Unread post by busylizzie »

Hi there,
When taking birth control, what exactly constitutes diarrhea that might affect the pill?
I take Yasmin.
Do I only need to worry about serious diarrhea? My bowel movements are regular, one a day, but can be a little soft as in they stick to the loo - not diarrhea or watery though.
Bit personal haha, but thanks!

Hi busylizzie,

That doesn't sound like something that would impact the efficacy of your pill. Everyone has slightly different bowel tendencies; soft stool is not a problem, only, like you said, "serious diarrhea," which is usually accompanied by other symptoms like nausea and cramping. So no need to worry. :)
