Question about supplements and birth control

Unread post by stlyogi9 »

Hey all,

I know this question probably is a silly one but I'd still like to ask. I take my birth control on time every night and I was recently taking a hair, skin, and nails supplement called Phytophanere. I've done my fair share of research and can't find any evidence of supplements interfering with birth control, so I think I'm safe. I even looked up the ingredients of the supplement I was taking to see if any of the herbs/minerals may cause issues. I'm just wanting to gain some more knowledge/peace of mind. I have since stopped taking the supplement. I have also taken biotin before and asked my gyno if it was safe to take with birth control, and was told the two should have no negative interaction at all.

Anybody have any info about taking other pills while on birth control?

Thanks!

Also, any time you're worried that a drug or supplement might interfere with your birth control, you can call and ask your doctor or a pharmacist about it and they should have information for your specific situation.
