Breast soreness - ovulation?
I currently have a slight soreness in the inner part of my breasts near the cleavage and near the armpit area (mostly on my left breasts) when I press on them. I also noticed that there is soreness underneath around the nipple when I touch it. Is this a sign of ovulation? My cycle is currently at a stage when ovulation should be happening but I've just never gotten these symptoms during ovulation before.

I am 17 years old and have had my period for around 5-6 years now, if that helps at all.

Hi lilaclady,
We can't say for certain what the cause of this is. It's possible it is tied to you ovulating and, if that's the case, sometimes our bodies react differently to our cycles than they have in the past. Unless the tenderness becomes really painful or does not go away, it's not cause for concern.

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.

Re: Breast soreness - ovulation?
The soreness has gotten more intense and is focused on the inner half of both boobs. My left boob also feels like a very soft waterballoon haha. It was very squishy and soft this morning and had grown a little bit. I've never gotten pms symptoms this early, but is it reasonable to say that these may be exactly that? Boob soreness has been a new pms symptom for me that started only 2 periods ago. I guess my body is just changing and adjusting?
Thank you
Thank you

Re: Breast soreness - ovulation?
This is one of those situations where we likely can't pin down exactly what's causing your breast tenderness right now. Breast growth & development can cause soreness, as noted above ovulation can contribute to it, and it's a common PMS symptom as well. As much as "your body is just changing and adjusting" might not feel like a satisfying answer, that could be a helpful way to think about it. Unless you're having severe pain, it's not something that's likely to be a cause for concern.
