Pregnancy

Unread post by jan1300 »

I just started BC 11 days ago. My boyfriend and I had sex and he came in me twice. Am I pregnant? Should I take plan B?

When in your cycle did you start using birth control - the first day of your period or the first Sunday after your period started, or some other time? (Is it the pill, or another method?) And how long ago did you have sex?

For most people who start the pill either on the first day of their period or the first Sunday after a period, any brand of combination pill will likely be effective after seven days of use, but here at Scarleteen, as many other credible sources suggest, we advise users to give their pills one full cycle before going without a backup to play it safe. So, if you're not comfortable with that possibility, Plan B is an option (and you will want to back up with condoms for at least the remainder of this cycle, if not permanently).

There's really no way to know that, unfortunately. Everybody's body will react a little differently, both to starting the pill and to taking Plan B, but cycle weirdness is something to prepare yourself for the next month or two at least.
