I Need Some Clarification

Unread post by TooWorry »

Okay, so three weeks ago was the last time I had sex. It was protected with a condom though. A couples day before I had sex, my last period had just ended. My past period was four days late. So this cycle, I could've sworn I ovulated like 2 days after I had sex because I had a lot of stretchy egg white cervical mucus. If that was the case, according to my period tracker I would've been ovulating a whole week earlier than what the period tracker is saying. I know sometimes they might be inaccurate but me ovulating a whole week earlier is just crazy to me because I have 35 day cycles & I normally don't ovulate until two weeks after my period. Is it normal for something like that to change so drastically or maybe was that not the day I ovulated? Maybe I did ovulate around the time my period tracker said I would? If I did ovulate early, wouldn't my next period be earlier too? My period tracker says my period is due in a week, but I don't even know if that's true or not because I think I ovulated sooner & it may come early. I don't know, A female's body is SO confusing! I'm a little nervous about having sex around my supposed "early ovulation" because the thought of precum is making me nervous. We used a condom, but for some reason I keep thinking that precum might have snuck from under the condom & slipped inside of me. I just need help understanding.

Hi TooWorry,

We can't really predict when your period will arrive, because cycles can vary from month to month in ways you can't always predict. How long have you been tracking your period for? And would you like information on how to track it in the most accurate way possible?

Even if you were ovulating, that is likely not cause for concern. You can read about why here: Let's Dial Down Some (Maybe) Ovulation Freakouts . Too, as long as the condom did not break or slip off, you can assume that it did it's job and kept all fluids (including precum) inside it.
And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
