Changing Birth Control Pills
So I’m currently finishing up the placebo pills of my last pack of generic combination BC pills. I recently cjsnged pharmacies & now they’ve switched me to a different generic birth control pill brand. My pharmacist informed me that my new pills have the same chemical make up of my old pills, their just named differently so I didnt think anything of it at the time. Am I still protected from pregnancy as soon as I start my new pack of pills or should I use a condom for a week to let my body get use to the new pill?

Re: Changing Birth Control Pills
Hi Tooworry,
Since the pills have the same make-up and there wasn't any gap between switching brands, it's unlikely that there would be a decrease in effectiveness. However, if it would make you feel more comfortable, you can always back-up with condoms for added protection.

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
