the contraceptive pill

Unread post by blueberryy »

Hi there i just wanted to ask about the contraceptive pill and the placebo week, as you finish the cycle of pills and start your placebo week, are you supposed to get your period on that week? Right on schedule? What happens if you dont bleed and dont get your period during the placebo week?also does your menstrual cycle change due to the pill, meaning that your period is not at your normal cycle?

Hi blueberry,

In theory, the pill makes a cycle more regular. Generally speaking, you are supposed to get a withdrawl bleed during the placebo week. But that doesn't always happen 100% of the time, because our bodies are not machines. You can read more about that in these articles:
Combined Oral Contraceptives (The Pill)
How do birth control pills really work, even during the placebo period?

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
