Pregnancy Test

Unread post by leafy »

Is it possible to take a home pregnancy test too late and get a false negative? Like, could you have too much HCG hormone in you that the test can’t read it or something? Or will it always be accurate so long as you wait at least until you miss your period, regardless how long it’s been since then?

Hi Leafy,

Nope, this is not a way that a false negative occurs. They most often occur because a test was taken too early, incorrectly, or (rarely) there was something wrong with the test. As long as you follow the directions for when and how to test, you can assume the results are accurate (and if you're worried about them, you can buy two tests to have extra confirmation of the result). You can find out more about pregnancy testing in this article: Peeing on a Stick: All About Pregnancy Tests
