storing birth control

Unread post by moonlightbae »

Hey there
Do I need to start new pack of birth control pills if I left them in a hot (30-35 degress celsius) car but not on sunlight for about an hour?
Will they still work as usual? Theyre all monophasic. Thanks

The instructions that came in the packet will tell you what the safe temperature range for storing your pills is!

It says literally not a thing. :D
It says "Special conditions for (name of pill) are not needed"

When I got home, the packet wasn't warm or hot at all, so speaking generally, do I need to change my pack?

If we keep on with this like we have been, we're only enabling your anxiety (and mismanaging it) around it instead of helping you switch your focus, so I'm going to set a hard limit with you when it comes to any more of these kinds of questions.

On the other hand, I'd be happy to talk with you any time about how to better manage this kind of anxiety and/or seek out help for it.

I'm getting help from my therapist. :)
Just asking if I need to change my pack or not based on general facts about storing medications.

Please respect the limit I've set.

Nothing bad is going to happen to you without reassurance, I promise. You also, of course, have the ability to call your pharmacist and ask them, which would be the thing to do that's actually actionable here, rather than just something you keep you in a feedback/reassurance loop. If this isn't about reassurance/anxiety but is just about what you should do when it comes to taking a medication, we'd advise you to call and ask your pharmacist, anyway.

I can't call them now - what should I do? Continue taking pills from the same pack or continue from a brand new pack?

It's really not okay to keep ignoring or trying to push past a limit someone has set. I'm closing this thread for now, because you're showing me you're just not going to respect our limits when we ask you to.
