Hi Scarleteen, I have two questions.
I just finished my first birth control pack 3 days ago. After the sugar pills I immediately started my next pack’s active pills the next day at the same time. I have been very good at taking my pills and I have not missed any at all.
1. Will I be protected from pregnancy in my case? I just want to make sure because my boyfriend and I had sex today.
I’m also thinking about dropping the pills and use IUDs as birth control instead.. 2. Do you have any tips? How do I get an IUD?

Re: Protection
Hi mitsuha,
As long as you've been taking your pills according to the directions, including not missing any, you can assume you have the full protection from pregnancy that the pill offers on this new pack. Too, if you're still nervous, you can back up with condoms for added protection (and for protection from STIs).
As for getting the IUD, the first step would be to talk with your healthcare provider about your interest in that method. Is that something you feel able to do?
