Bleeding After Fingering

This week my boyfriend started fingering me. I've been bleeding afterwards. It was unexpected in terms of the bleeding. I've never been fingered before until now. It's happebed each time since then. Is this normal?

A couple things: are your partner's fingernails well trimmed, with no sharp edges or hangnails? Are you using plenty of lube, and adding more as needed?

Yes they are well trimmed.
It's been better since we've been using lube.
I don't know why but I was nervous to use it but it's helped so much.

Sometimes the idea of new things, especially on something sensitive or personal like genitals, can be a bit scary or odd. Too, there are some - completely false! - ideas floating around that needing to use extra lube is some kind of failure or bad thing. Sometimes, we can absorb a little of ideas like that, without even really knowing that we have.
