Question after stopping birth control
I got off BC about 33 days ago. I was on Ortho TriCyclen Lo for 5 years. I finished my last pack and just didn't start a new one. I've been waiting for my first period and yesterday I finally started some light spotting. However, it has stayed the same. Though I have cramps I haven't been staining my pads and the bleeding is very very light, I only notice it when I wipe. Is this normal? Should I consider this a period or just spotting?

Re: Question after stopping birth control
Hi caribbeanprncss,
Stopping your pill is likely going to make your cycle irregular or different than your used to for a little while, since your body is adjusting. Beyond that, some periods are just lighter than others, so if this has symptoms of a period and seems to be lasting the length of a period, then it's most likely your period.

And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.
