Can I be pregnant?!
Forum rules
IF YOU ARE POSTING TO ASK IF YOU SHOULD USE EMERGENCY CONTRACEPTION:
Please do not wait on us if you may need or want EC (like the morning-after pill). Because it is most effective the sooner it is taken or administered, we suggest that you go ahead and get it, and if you want to talk to someone about whether or not you choose to use it, we can do that with you after. That way, you have it ASAP if you do decide you want or need to use it. <3

Can I be pregnant?!
I am a virgin but have bad accidental pregnancy anxiety. I touch my cervix often to check position so that I know when I am ovulating to be extra safe in case I come in contact with any semen that day. I know I ovulated on 3/10 meaning my period is expected tomorrow 3/24. However, last time I touched my cervix around this last ovulation (3/10) I did not wash my hands before. They were dry as far as I can remember and I know I should have washed them just to be extra safe but I didn’t and there is nothing I can do now. I have not touched my boyfriends penis since 2/18 and he never entered me then or ever. I am having some of my normal period symptoms like sore breast but do not have the severe cramps I usually do. I tested for pregnancy the last 2 days and they were both negative. Could I be pregnant? I don’t feel it’s possible but I have such bad anxiety that it is all I can think about and it scares me. I worry somehow I could have had trace amounts of invisible semen on them (even though I haven’t touched a penis in over a month)and caused pregnancy to occur. Please help.

Re: Can I be pregnant?!
Hi anonymous384,
We will not answer ANY questions about pregnancy fear or anxiety in our direct services from users who are not pregnant or who are not or have not otherwise been directly involved with an actual pregnancy.
We CAN and WILL talk about things like:
• choosing and using a method or methods of contraception for any future sexual activity
• creating your own sexual limits and boundaries based on your needs and/or presenting them to any partners
• making sexual choices that suit your own needs, abilities and limitations, including your own readiness for certain possible risks
• help locating or using emergency contraception if and when you have had a pregnancy risk
• discussing options with a real, existing pregnancy, and help finding and accessing those options, such as abortion services and pre-natal care, or discussing feelings or concerns about a past pregnancy
• help with anxiety like locating mental health services, sound self-help or asking for support from friends or family
For help dealing with a scare (including what poses a risk and your next steps based on your unique situation), you may use our tool on site built for this purpose: The Pregnancy Panic Companion.
