That sounds like a plan then! I would treat this as a one step at a time thing; once you have the appointment and get the additional information, then you can work out what the next logical, available step is.
And you to whom adversity has dealt the final blow/with smiling bastards lying to you everywhere you go/turn to and put out all your strength of arm and heart and brain/and like the Mary Ellen Carter rise again.

Hi SillyMcGoof_,

I hope it's okay that I'm jumping in here! Yes, going on T is certainly a process and it takes time to see some changes. Although, similar to what Sam said, it's important to take it one step at a time and definitely discuss all of this with a professional since they can guide you through the process.

Also, I know some trans people who attend therapy regularly while undergoing hormone therapy. From my knowledge, the changes can be emotional and mental, not just physical. This might be too much information, but I just thought I'd share! Please keep us updated if you feel comfortable though.

I'm really sorry to hear that. Maybe it's time to reach out to them again or look into other therapists in the area. Let us know if you have any further questions and take care!

oh!!! i just remembered another issue: my dad

basically he has no idea im trans bc hes um….pretty conservative but i still see him sometimes (we don’t live together anymore bc him and my mom are separated but he comes over sometimes and sometimes we go to lunch and stuff)

so ig that’s another issue bc if/when i go on t that’ll complicate things a lot more and im a bit worried about it

Ah, I can see why that is a concern. Do you think it's a conversation he would ever be open to having, if you want to be able to tell him? Or if you don't, which is also okay, do you think he would even ask or bring it up?

idk if he would be open to having a conversation, but if/when i do go on t he’ll probably notice my voice drop and stuff and ask wtf is going on.

also i talked to my mom about getting a doc involved and she said we need to focus on the lupus and everything else going on rn first

Hey McGoof -- it sounds like your mom is generally pretty supportive, do you think she could help explain stuff to your dad if you needed to? How often do you see him?

Also, I can see where she's coming from saying that you need to prioritize other health issues before HT. How does it feel hearing that? Do you agree?

hiya!! hmm im not sure if she’d wanna explain anything to him tbh bc they’re not on the best terms. i dont see him too often tho. probably like once a month or something

also yeah i think it’s probably a good idea to get everything with my lupus and stuff sorted out first. it did kinda suck hearing it bc i just really wanna get the ht stuff sorted out but i do agree that my health issues are probably more important rn
