Unrealistic Expectations Overturned

Sometimes before participating in a kind of sex, we will have unrealistic expectations around that, maybe based on what we've seen in movies or heard about from friends. Can you think of any expectations you had around any kind of sex that were then completely blown out of the water after you participated in that kind of sex? Things that make you go "DUH of course that didn't happen!" now?

For example: I think one unrealistic expectation I had before having vaginal intercourse was how aroused I did or did not need to be beforehand -- I thought you could just jump right to it and everything would be fine! Well I certainly found out pretty quickly that that is not usually the case
