Seeing my boyfriend w/ cold sore

I'm going over my boyfriend's house tomorrow and I have a cold sore......is there anything I should avoid doing to avoid the spread of more of them? He also has the virus.

If he already has the virus, you're not going to give it to him again, he has it for good (because the HSV virus can't be "cured," only treated). However, mouth-to-genital contact can cause the spread of the sores to your partner's genitalia, so avoid that during an outbreak.

You can't give cold sores to someone who already gets them--the virus is already in his body, so kissing him won't infect him anew!
