Asking about menstrual bleeding

Unread post by Josteph »

Hello, good afternoon. I have few questions about menstrual blood flow.

Is it normal to have heavy flow blood until it touch the underwear on her first day? For context i dont know if it affects the period, but she was abroad for 4 months and she loss weights. 3 weeks ago, she went back to her home country and starting to eat more than before (outside of the country) i think she gained more weight now.

Sorry for the bad english, have a good day

Hi there, Josteph! Don't worry about your language, it is good. I can understand you, and if we don't understand, we'll just ask for clarification.

Stress, and weight/dietary changes can impact someone's periods, but having heavier flow/some leakage isn't that unusual, and most probably isn't something to be worried about. The body isn't a machine, so some variability is to be expected.

If I may ask, have you talked to this person about your concerns? She must know her body best — was she worried about this change?

Makes sense! As Veda stated, though, heavier blood flow shouldn't be a concern on its own. It's normal for there to be variation due to different factors. :)

Oh yeah 1 more question. So usually she got spotting like 1 day her period starts but the next day its normal (like the bleeding start). So, is the spotting is her first day of period or when the menstrual bleeding start is the first day?
