Hi there.

So, unprotected penis-in-vagina intercourse always presents some level of both STI and pregnancy risks. Both of those risks are lower -- and in the case of pregnancy, considerably lower, while in the case of STIs, not so much -- when someone doesn't ejaculate. Mind you, because the vagina is wet, someone with a penis can't know if they had pre-ejaculate or not. That's not something you can usually feel while it's happening so it's not something you can know happened or didn't.

The best way to not worry about this is, moving forward, not to have intercourse unprotected when no one wants a pregnancy or STI. Do you need help knowing how to find and use condoms, and does you partner need help finding and accessing a second method for backup that she can control for herself?

With this issue that already happened, what she will want to do is to take a pregnancy test: that's the only way to know for sure if someone is pregnant or not, and it sounds like she is wanting to know if she is. If she's willing to do that for herself, then you can also know for yourself.

You can look at what the risk is of any common sexual activity here, for future reference: Can I Get Pregnant, or Get or Pass On an STI From That?
