Anyone used delay spray?

Unread post by MarkW »

I've struggled with premature ejaculation whenever I have sex. My partner is understanding, but I feel disappointed not lasting that long. I'm thinking of using a type of product called delay spray to desensitize myself. I see a few different ones out there like Promescent and Steady Freddy (yeah, weird name lol). Anyone ever used one?

Desensitization creams and sprays are generally not something we advise. Some of them have ingredients that can irritate genital tissue of the user and their partner, but more to the point, we're really here for sex that accepts and honors what people's bodies can and can't do. We just know that approach to leave everyone feeling a lot better about themselves and their bodies, and to create a sexual life with partners where it's really about us as we are, rather than trying to meet other standards. Make sense?

So, if your partner wants a longer period of time, for instance, with things your penis can do, when your penis can't do those things or can't at a certain point, how about instead using things like a toy or your hands to duplicate those kinds of sensations?

Yeah, I’ve tried delay sprays like that before, but honestly, they didn’t give me the results I was hoping for. What actually worked better for me were techniques like the stop-start method and edging, which really helped me build control over time. I also sometimes use [drug name removed], which helps with PE by increasing serotonin levels, and it’s made a huge difference. It’s all about finding what works for you, but I’d say give techniques a shot first—they really helped me more than any spray.

Keep working on it, and you’ll see improvement! ;)

Thanks for your insight, FlynnS.

As for using [drug name], we don’t recommend taking any medications without talking to your physician first.

I also want to add a reminder to try not to put pressure on yourself. Exploring different techniques and toys can be helpful, but it’s also important to try not to think of that process as something you have to do to “fix” this part of your sex life, you know? It can be more empowering to think of it as an opportunity to try new things and have fun with your partner.

How do you feel about that?

I completely agree with you! It's crucial to consult with a physician before trying any medication like [drug name]. Your health should always come first, and a professional’s input can really help guide the best approach. Just to clarify, as you might have noticed, I didn’t actually recommend [drug name] but simply mentioned that it has been helpful in my case.

I also appreciate your reminder about not putting too much pressure on ourselves. It's easy to get caught up in trying to "fix" things, but sometimes just focusing on enjoying the experience with your partner can take the stress off and make it more enjoyable. Trying new things together can definitely create more connection and excitement.

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts! 🌟

You might consider investigating edging. There are articles about edging on the web. Edging can greatly extend the time to ejaculation. Also, Kegels exercises help to enable edging.
