Pregnancy possibility

Unread post by Lalla »

Hi
So I read here that fingering can't cause pregnancy even with precum or traces of semen on fingers (can you confirm that?). Problem is that my boyfriend rubbed his penis near my vulva, I had underwear on but they might have shifted a bit, I don't think he placed his penis right on my vaginal opening but I'm not completely sure. He didn't come and I think he peed before that. Is that a pregnancy risk? And if he didn't pee? My period is almost a week late and I don't know if I should really worry

Hi Lalla,

What you're describing doesn't pose much of a pregnancy risk, since it's not direct genital contact. Although you say you're not completely sure if he did place his penis directly on your vaginal opening, is that because you don't remember? Whether he peed before or not doesn't make a difference.

Here's more information about pregnancy risks and how to avoid, or what to do in the case of a scare:

It's not that I don't remember, it's me having doubts and covering all possibilities. By saying it doesn't pose much of a risk are you saying that it still poses a little risk? Should I have taken emergency contraception in this case?

Hi Lalla!

Neither fingering nor dry humping (touching genitals through clothing) poses a significant risk of pregnancy. But I hear that you're stressed out because your period is late! We have an article about late periods that might help reassure you: M.I.A or, Dude, Where's My Period?

If you're still feeling anxious after that, I'd suggest checking out The Pregnancy Panic Companion Just click on the section that applies to you (either the one about late periods or the one about irregular periods, whichever one describes you best) and it'll walk you through what to do.

I'm really sorry if that might sound insistent but by saying neither pose a significant risk what do you mean? English is not my first language and I'm just trying to be sure. You're saying I didn't need emergency contraception and I don't have to take a pregnancy test? Was it dry humping even if the underwear had shifted a bit? I didn't feel him enter at all and I'm sure he didn't but I'm worried about a bit of skin to skin contact which I'm not sure it happened

Hi Lalla,

Not at all, we understand. What my colleagues mean when they say "not a significant risk" is that, really anything in life poses some risk because we are not in your position, so we can't know all of the specifics of your situation. What we know is what you tell us. Given what you have described here, we are not at all concerned about a risk of pregnancy. If I were in your position, I would personally not be worried. Sperm can only live at room temperature for a few seconds before it dies, so unless your situation included direct penis/vagina contact for a prolonged period of time, there is no risk here.

I still want to link this article of ours becuase I think it will help with some of the nerves you may be experincing right now: The Pregnancy Panic Companion

Let me know if you have any other questions.
