Pregnancy scare
Hey everyone! I'm new here but in search of help and answers to my questions, my girlfriend is currently 13 days late to her period, we had protected PIV sex on July 10th, the condom never came off, wrinkled or break at any moment, we did a water test after and no droplets came out, there also was no ejaculation as it was a very short intimate moment but one thing to note is that her period tracking app highlighted that day as a high risk of pregnancy day, additionally, we were super cautious with precum, neither my girlfriend or me touched her or the condom with any precum on my hands, recently she told me she's started to feel strange as in nauseous and a bit bloated, is it just the result of extreme worry? any help is appreciated, thanks!

Re: Pregnancy scare
Hi Fbritco007, welcome to the boards!
I want to start off by mentioning that period tracking apps aren't really the great tool some people think they are, since it's impossible for an app to accurately predict things like when someone's period is starting or when they're at high risk of pregnancy. They go off of patterns and a prediction is just that, it's not science and it shouldn't be used as such.
That said, it sounds like you two took all the precautions you should've to make this encounter low risk. Of course, there's always a risk of pregnancy when having genital sex, but by using a condom properly and there being no ejaculation, the risk is super low here. Most likely, her period is late due to other hormonal things - yes, stress is a common factor that messes with cycles and can make a period late (a few days difference is normal, 13 days is considered late).
Since the risk is so low I don't want you two to worry so much, but taking a test is not a bad idea here since you did have sex and you want that peace of mind. The other symptoms you mentioned could also be unrelated, but it's always better to be proactive about sexual health. Is it possible for her to take a home pregnancy test?

Re: Pregnancy scare
I understand we took precautions but the anxiety is so overwhelming!! specially for her, a home pregnancy test will be possible in a few days since we're away on vacation and I believe forest pharmacies don't exist haha, well gt one as soon as we can but in the meantime I'll try to calm us both down, additionally I'd like to ask, since she's become quite a bit irregular on her periods (3-7 days late), would that play an important factor on our situation here? also, does her worrying excessively about it influence how late her period can be? Thanks!

Hi fbritco007!
I’m sorry to hear this is causing so much stress! Hopefully, taking a pregnancy test when you get back from your trip will help you both feel better. In the meantime, how are you feeling about managing this anxiety?
Also, yes! Stress can sometimes play a role in delaying a period. So can an abrupt change in exercise or routine, so it could be a few different factors if you’re on a trip as well.

Re: Pregnancy scare
we've been talking about what precautions we took and we've analyzed our situation, the conclusion is always a there's no way you're pregnant but this small margins of error are making worried sick almost, I've been proposing some activities to take our minds off of it for a bit and it's kind of worked, u talked to my gf about how much she's been worrying and she admitted that 3 days prior to her period she became worried due to a friend of hers getting pregnant on accident which caused her to overthink a lot, can that cause a delay? thanks again!

I’m glad you have some activities planned to take your minds off of it for now. And yes! As I mentioned, stress can sometimes delay a period by a bit.
