IF his fingers had precum

Unread post by Adorableadora »

Hello thank you for taking your time to respond to this message
Is it possible to get pregnant if my boyfriend might have had precum on his fingers and then inserted them into my vagina? This happened on Monday. He pulled my pants down first and touched my skin, so I’m unsure if any precum that may have been on his fingers would have already dried. Is there still a pregnancy risk in that situation? If worried there must of been some on his nails or some. I also have irregular period so I’m not sure if I was ovulating or not 😭 also no sex just that happened 😭
Thank you again!

Hi Adorableadora! If I understand your question correctly, did your boyfriend touch himself first before touching your skin and fingering you?

Precum usually doesn't have a lot of sperm; not to mention that sperm cells are very delicate as they need a specific temperature and moisture to thrive. The chances of pregnancy are very low here. You can read more about sperm cells here: Who's Afraid of Sperm Cells?

In the future, both of you might find it helpful to keep a dry towel around to clean your fingers before proceeding to touch each other's genitals. Washing your hands thoroughly with soap and running water also helps! Also, would you like to talk more about your irregular periods?

Yes he touched himself first then pulled my pants down and I don't wanna go too much TMI but he touched my skin and then he fingered me.
Im afraid I was ovulating and tbh today in the middle of the night like around 1am I went to the restroom and when i wiped myself i see it brown and a small brown blood clot, but when i woke up again at 7am no period. Is it implantation im worried.
And yes we will be more careful in the future we never had penetration and im sure these are very dumb questions so i apologize. And yes i dont mind talking about my irregular period.

Also there no 10 or 20 min wait before he inserted his fingers or was possibly like 5ish min
I was just worried he had precum
Also I hope this isn’t offensive but how come some websites do say there is a chance in pregnancy, I’m sorry again if this is offensive.
He said he didn’t use the hand that touched himself but yknow when you are in the mood you might not remember everything
I’m very anxious and I know I need to stop because it can affect my cycle

I see, thank you for sharing. Just to be clear, your questions aren't dumb at all! It's completely understandable that you are deeply worried about this.

Implantation bleeding doesn't happen as common as you think. Instead, the slight bleeding (a.k.a spotting) you experienced could be due to hormone changes, or even the release of the egg cell itself, considering you might be in your ovulation phase. It would be too early for fertilization to start by this point.

I wonder if our articles could help give you more idea on what's probably happening. Would you like me to share you some links?

Thank you for your hard work in responding to our messages it eases me to have someone to talk to!

So even if this happened last Monday, Sep. 23 (forgot to add that detail) it’s still considered to early for fertilization to start?

And yes please do!

So one more reassurance with the whole pregnancy scare, even if precum was on his hands 5min before he inserted in me there is still a low chance of pregnancy even during possible ovulation?

Hey there, Adorableadora.

The thing is, that's just not a way pregnancy happens. This is a no chance scenarios, not a low chance scenario.

For pregnancy to happen, it's not just that someone needs to be fertile (able to become pregnant) or ovulating and that there need to be sperm cells. There need to be the right time in your fertility cycle, there need to be the *best* sperm cells (pre-ejaculate doesn't itself contain sperm, but it can sometimes carry trace sperm left over from a previous ejaculation, but those are the stragglers from that ejaculation, not the best and brightest, if you get me), AND enough ejaculate to both help move the sperm cells and counter the acidic nature of the vagina, AND enough sperm cells to do the job, AND the force an ejaculation provides to get them to where they need to go...and so on.

You can read all about all that is required for a pregnancy to actually happen here, and I think it would be a good idea if you did: Human Reproduction: A Seafarer's Guide. This article might also be a good one for you right now or later:
The Pregnancy Panic Companion.

It also sounds like you'd feel a lot better if you asked your partner to wash their hands first before touching your genitals, which they should anyway just from a germs standpoint: that helps prevent infections like UTIs.

I do need to ask you not to seek reassurance here, it's just something we know only helps keep people in anxiety, rather than helping you leave it. Thank you! <3
