Am I pregnant?
On January 14 me and my bf were doing sexual activities with no penetration. I made sure he doesn’t touch his penis while he touches my vagina, but I’m still worried he might of had Precum on his fingers when he pulled out his penis from his pants, Or at any time he was touching himself without realizing, he was inserting his fingers inside me, and I’m worried I was probably ovulating at the time. He says he was careful and I’m trying to keep that in mind. I’m irregular and my period doesn’t always come at the same day every month but I haven’t yet had my period. My last period was Dec. 24-30 and the month before had the same pattern Nov. 23-27 and the month before that it was Oct. 25-29. Every time he actually ejaculates we always stop. I’m having light cramping that comes and goes this whole week and sore chest but still no period. I know and read that it’s not possible but is it still the same case if you were ovulating?

Hey Adorableadora,
What you read is correct, and it is still the case if you are ovulating. There is very low risk of pregnancy here. I would recommend waiting another week to see if you get your period, irregularity is very common. To read more from us on the subject, check out:

Have you considered using any safer protective methods with your boyfriend? Like condoms or birth control? If these are you things you could get your hands on, they can really help prevent this kind of stress because your risk goes down so much further, especially if you are practicing the "pull-out method" when having sex.

I was wondering why in some posts (like these) it’s called a very low risk, while in the article of the ‘birth control bingo’ it is called a ‘no risk’. Could you explain?

Re: Am I pregnant?
When specifically speaking of someone fingering their partner who MIGHT have some dry pre-ejaculate on their fingers, the risk is extremely low because not only does pre-ejaculate contain way less sperm than ejaculate, but sperm don't last very long outside of the right environment. So even if he had some sperm on his hands, by the time it dries and he fingered her, it would not be alive anymore in order to cause a pregnancy.
Sometimes you hear low risk because when dealing with genitals, there's lots of room for mistakes and slip-ups, so some people don't feel comfortable saying there's no risk when we don't know exactly what happened. Since risk of pregnancy in general goes up during ovulation, that might affect the answer too. But generally this is not a real risk to worry about if it goes the way I explained. We just also like to suggest birth control so people don't have to stress over it and if a mistake happens, they're protected.

Re: Am I pregnant?
I’m sorry for my late response, thank you for responding to my message I didn’t end up pregnant!
But I do have a question about that article you send me about “Can I Get Pregnant or Pass an STI From That” the part that says “FROTTAGE OR TRIBBING: (when people are NOT wearing any clothing) Rubbing genitals directly together” if the person is rubbing their penis by the anal area or close to the vagina with no ejaculation or pre cum then the risk is low? (Both not wearing clothes)

Re: Am I pregnant?
hey adorableadora,
Are you wondering about something that did already happen, or a hypothetical?
The risk of pregnancy from rubbing a penis close to the vagina with no barriers is moderate, but lower if there was no ejaculation or pre-ejaculate. But again, like Sofi said, there's a lot of room for mistakes/slip ups, and it's hard for us to assess risk accurately. If this is something you are wanting to do, and want to add protection, your partner could wear a condom.
