when there's no context

Unread post by beanwater »

So I woke up to three of my friends in our group chat talking about something and sharing a screenshot of a game they're (presumably) playing together. The chat started with "We did awesome!!" before they continued talking about the game. Maybe this shouldn't be a big deal but I'm sorta confused. They've also been talking less in the group chat nowadays which makes it easy to think they made a new group chat without me (I've also had a history of being excluded in many different groups over time), either that or they just don't have much to say in the group chat and are focused on the school year starting again. Do I ask them what's going on or do I just leave it be?

Hey there beanwater :)

Is this the same group from your earlier post, where they said they’re starting playing games later at night? If so, my guess is they could just be referring to the games they were playing later on when you weren’t there. I don’t think this in itself means you’re being replaced or that you were excluded, but I can really appreciate how what you’ve been through with other friend groups in the past could color how this feels now. It never feels good to be excluded, so I can appreciate your concern there and I know it doesn’t feel good. :(

Have you asked to make a time with them to play games when you’re also available? That might be a good step, then you can see their reaction if they’re interested in making time to include you or not.
