EC and periods
Hi
I asked a question a couple of weeks ago following emergency contraception that I took and Heather and Johanna really helped me.
My period has started again this month on tine but has lasted again 2 days. This means I have had three 2 day periods since I took levonelle one step.
Do you think I should see a doctor about this or just accept that the EC has changed my periods?
Thank you.

Re: EC and periods
I think that's really up to you.
If it helps you to decide with that, the general rule of thumb with whether or not to consult a healthcare provider about menstrual issues is generally that is cycles have been missed, or seemed really off for three or more cycles (like, I don't know how long your periods have been before this, so maybe this isn't a big departure from your norm), it's probably a good idea to check in with a healthcare provider.

Okay. So, this is weird, and is a pattern of weird, and its also freaking you out. That says to me that the best choice for you is probably to go ahead and check in with your healthcare provider.

For sure. So, you take the benefit with the freaked-out-ness and still just go ahead and see someone if that's what you'd like to do.
(I just wound up with a version in my head of that thing people do about coffee: "I like my coffee like I like my...." but about this period sitch: "I like my coffee like I like my periods, light, but not too freaky." )

Re: EC and periods
Hi Heather
I just wanted to thank you and update you. I went to my GP today so didn't seem to think anything of the light painless periods. Again he ran another pregnancy test and it was negative so just carry on as normal and start my BCP.
Thanks for your help.
